Meet Buckshot!
Buckshot is a handsome 13-year-old Cleveland Bay with a kind personality and a solid foundation in both driving and riding. He has previous driving experience that would benefit from a refresher with a strong and experienced driver, and has been ridden in the past, though he is best suited for an advanced rider.
He stands well for the farrier, is great in cross-ties, trailers easily, and enjoys grooming and attention. Buckshot is highly desensitized to commotion, loves people, and is a pleasure to have around the barn.
While he is sweet and willing, Buckshot will do best with a confident, experienced handler who can provide clear direction as he returns to work. With consistency and a firm hand, he has all the makings of a wonderful partner.
Buckshot is currently available through Colonial Williamsburg’s Equine Placement Program. As part of our commitment to the long-term wellbeing of our horses, we thoughtfully seek new homes for horses whose next chapter may be better suited outside of our working carriage and historic interpretation programs. We are committed to finding all of our horses a safe, supportive, and permanent home.
As a nonprofit organization committed to the lifelong wellbeing and responsible placement of our horses, the following requirements apply to the purchase of any Colonial Williamsburg equine:
