🌧️ Muddy Hooves & Big Dreams: Merple is Looking for Her Person! 🐴💜 #AdoptMerple #HOPteamMerple

Merple is on the lookout for her forever home—and if it comes with a little less rain and a lot less mud, she certainly won’t complain! 😅 This sweet 2-year-old Thoroughbred filly has been working hard in the Appalachian Trainer Face Off program, and she’s more than just a pretty face.

✅ Picks up all four feet
✅ Leads, backs, and trots in hand
✅ Easy to catch, affectionate, and super smart
✅ Calm around dogs, pigs, barn cats, and chickens
✅ Stands for baths and tolerates the saddle pad
✅ Trailered, ponied, and even started trail walks!

She’s still growing mentally and physically, so she’ll thrive best with someone who can continue to guide her with consistency and kindness. 💪

If Merple had a dating profile, it would say:
“Enjoys long walks on the hill, being guided around obstacles, and snuggling after a training session. Looking for someone with good snacks and better weather.”

Merple will be available for adoption through Heart of Phoenix at the conclusion of the 2025 Appalachian Trainer Face Off this August. Don’t wait to fall in love—get your applications in early so you’re ready when she is!

Taking a quiet moment to just be 💙
Sometimes training doesn’t look like movement, obstacles, or big breakthroughs — sometimes it looks like stillness, softness, and being brave enough to stand and process.

Today’s session with #HOPteamMerple was all about settling, thinking, and learning to be okay with the little things. It’s in these peaceful pauses that confidence is built.

Progress isn’t always flashy, but it always matters. 🐴✨

Horses adopted are typically up to date on vaccines, dental floats, farrier care and all vet needs.

Horses are typically located in the Appalachian area, but please inquire about a horse’s specific location when you apply!

We are looking to adopt to safe homes.

A history of good horsemanship, the ability to provide sufficient care with good vet, farrier and peer references are important. If you are a first-time horse owner, we will require you to board at a facility for the first year while you learn more about care. We encourage everyone to take advantage of riding lessons.

Foal adoptions require previous, established experience with youngsters.

Our adoption process makes sure you get the right horse for you – it is a no-fail process for finding the right match.
