Don Derek came to CTA, with not such a good histroy on the track, with haveing temper tantrums at the starting gate and while in training on the track.  When he arrived he had no shoes and open abcesses on both front feet.  We worked with our farrier to get this corrected and him feeling more comfortable.  Derek started back in training on the ground only, back to basics is hat we say.  Yes he was stubborn  and little by little we have worked through this.  We have started him under saddle, and he has improved but still a small way to go.  Derek is up to date on everything, has no vices other than likes to pin his ears.
