🌟 About Sheldon

I haven’t taken this decision lightly — but after years of ownership by our Grands, it’s time for Sheldon to find his next person. Whether you’re looking for a safe, gentle partner for Trail riding, Hunting or Dressage, Sheldon is the real deal. He’s extremely versatile and absolutely love children.

He’s the kind of horse anyone can ride — from 5 to 80 (even though he’s only 12.2h, he’s a gypsy, not a Gypsy Cob or a Gypsy Vanner, so he can handle a short adult (approximately 125lbs). Calm, steady, and endlessly patient. He was broke to saddle and a rider at a walk 2 1/2 hours by young Pony Clubber!

He’s the one you trust with the kids, beginners, or anyone who just wants a relaxing, worry-free trail or arena ride.

💫 Sheldon’s Traits

  • Exceptionally calm, safe, and beginner-friendly
  • Has been a partner for children and adults who have needed a Therapy Horse.
  • Sound, healthy, and PPE welcome at buyer’s expense.
  • Never, ever has he been lame or injured.
  • Easy keeper – stays in great condition on minimal feed
  • Rides bare back, western or English
  • Loves to swim.  Even blows bubbles!
  • No problem with riding up or down on a hill or into a creek
  • Traffic safe – comfortable in busy environments with horses in large trail groups
  • Better confidence in groups, or fine alone with a confident rider
  • Not spooky or unpredictable
  • Excellent manners: leads, loads, ties, bathes, clips, stands for farrier
  • Never has had shoes, always, barefoot trims. Wears boots when on the trail.
  • Reliable after long breaks – same steady ride every time
  • Great with kids and beginners
  • Will follow the lead horse if you wanted your child on the pony.
  • No issues ponying from another horse
  • Super easygoing and patient personality
  • Sure-footed and trustworthy on trails
  • Vets in Farrier’s love Sheldon.
  • No bite; No buck, No rear.

🐴 Temperament & Ability

Sheldon prefers slow, steady rides and is happiest taking his time on the trail. He’ll trot if asked or is following other horses, has been in dressage competitions, and is used to strollers, cars, bikes, etc.  Sheldon lives in an area where we have Naval Planes doing touchdowns.  Noise is not a big deal to him. You can see the wheels sometimes.  No, they are not suppose to fly that low.

He’s always been my go-to for guests, lessons, photoshoots and of course children.

🧬 Background

Sheldon is a miniature gypsy horse, renowned for their gentle, people-loving temperaments and service in therapeutic programs for children. Sheldon takes after them in every way. Gypsy’s children may only have their horse as their playmate.  Sheldon’s lineage is equal to Sheldon‘s temperament.

Sheldon is not a pony nor does he have a true stubborn pony temperament.
