Violet is a 12 year old, 14.3 hand bay Quarter Horse mare, and she is truly one of the sweetest horses we have in the barn.
For the past three years, Violet has been used in a children’s summer camp. She has carried beginner riders, participated in fun shows, and even been used for supervised vaulting with an instructor. She is very patient with children and tolerates all the normal mistakes that come with learning, including unbalanced riders, mixed-up cues, and accidental bumps and kicks.
At home, our two-year-old has also ridden Violet on a lead line and helped groom and lead her around. Violet is so careful and patient with her. Check out her photos and you can see just how sweet she is with kids.
Violet rides both English and Western and has been ridden in the arena and on the trails by beginner and intermediate riders. True beginners have ridden her independently in camp and lesson settings. She stops and steers easily, stands to mount, and stays quiet even after having time off.
She will trail ride alone or with a group and willingly rides away from the barn and the other horses. She crosses water and has been quiet around dogs, traffic, farm equipment, wildlife, and commotion. She’s a been there, done that type of girl!
Violet ties, loads, and hauls easily. She is easy to catch, good for bathing, and stands for the farrier. She gets along with both mares and geldings in the pasture. She has no bad habits and has always been an easy horse to have around.
Violet is a patient teacher and confidence builder for riders of all ages. She is the kind of horse we can picture becoming a child’s very special horse- the one they learn to ride on, spend their summers loving and grooming, and make memories with that they will carry for the rest of their life.
Violet is only being offered for sale because of the unexpected passing of our father. This is not an easy sale and finding a good home where she will be loved and appreciated matters very much to us.

Our dad spent his lifetime in the horse industry and more than 40 years building his life with horses on our family farm. We are the third generation of our family here, and horses have always been a big part of our lives. We are especially proud of the lesson and camp horses we have right now. They are honestly one of the best groups we have ever had and finding good homes for them matters a great deal to us.
