Gracie is estimated to be 13 years old. She is being rehomed because her owner died of brain cancer, right in the middle of saving a herd of misfit horses. She is approachable in a field…sometimes. She stands calmly to be haltered. She leads well through gates, into the barn, turning, stopping, and backing. She stood calmly when tied, and trailers well.

She appears to be a maiden mare. She has some knowledge and understanding of tack, and yielding to pressure, but doesn’t seem to have been ridden. However, if someone wanted to spend time on her, it looks like an activity she might be interested in. She loves being brushed and was fine taking her blanket off and on. She did not allow us to examine her hooves, but they don’t appear to be terribly overgrown. She took a dewormer tube of applesauce like a pro. From herd observations, Gracie is adventurous and leads the herd.

Her rehoming fee goes towards paying off the loan on our horse trailer, which allows us to pick up horses, take them to the vet, and do anything else that might need to be done.
