True Jazz is one of those rare OTTB mares that has a storied racing career with 71 starts and over $70K in earnings AND is also a grounded, down-to-earth good citizen.
Due to a shift in her owner’s circumstances, Jazz needs a new home through no fault of her own. This sweet mare lives alone despite being good with all of her previous pasturemates. Her owner knows that she deserves a home with other horses even though she is reluctant to let her go.
True Jazz was ridden for several years after her racing career as a husband’s horse, and her owner reports that she was very dependable and easy going under saddle. Unfortunately, a pasture injury resulted in a torn tendon on her left hind nearly two years ago, and Jazz has been laid off work since. Her vet said that Jazz is comfortable after the initial healing and has a great quality of life as a companion horse.
Today, Jazz is fully recovered from her injury, and needs to be rehomed somewhere that she can live with other horses and enjoy her well-earned retirement.
Suitability: Currently Companion Only; Potential for Light Riding with Veterinary Clearance and Supervision
If you are interested in rehoming Jazz and giving her a safe forever home, please use the “Apply to Adopt” button on her AdoptaPet page to fill out an Interest Form and we will connect you with her owner. Thank you!
