Thunder is a resilient gelding who has overcome a difficult past and is ready for a fresh start with a compassionate and experienced handler. Standing at 14.2 hh, he was rescued from a harsh situation where he shared a backyard with aggressive dogs that left scars on his legs and fear-based trauma responses. Despite his past, Thunder has shown that he can build trust with dogs once he gets to know them.

Previously, he was ridden by a dedicated woman who trained him for her son, even ponying the small chap on rides. Unfortunately, due to her injury on a different horse, Thunder has been sitting idle for the past three years. During this time, he has developed a nipping habit, but this is a behavior that can be corrected with consistent training. Thunder could use a refresher on yielding his quarters but responds well to light pressure on his halter. His farrier has confirmed he has no hoof issues and is currently barefoot. He stands patiently to have all 4 hooves lifted.

Thunder will come with a new Weatherbeeta blanket, through the #HomeforEveryHorseProgram, though he is afraid of blankets, so an experienced home that can patiently work with his quirks is ideal. He scored 11/14 on the ASPCA Behavioral profile, indicating that while he is good in many situations, he could benefit from additional training and experience.
