Meet Leo—a stunning 17-year-old dun Quarter Horse gelding with a heart as golden as his coat. This sweet boy is searching for a home where he can be lightly ridden or simply cherished as a pasture companion while he continues healing.

Leo came from a very loving home, but when his family could no longer care for him, they entrusted him to us with hopes he’d find a future full of kindness. When he arrived, he was noticeably lame; after evaluation, our vet diagnosed him with a mild case of navicular (X-rays available). Since then, Leo has been on a journey of improvement through corrective shoeing and a daily dose of Equinox. He’s moving in the right direction—brighter, more comfortable, and more hopeful every day—but he isn’t quite 100% sound yet.

Even so, Leo remains one of the sweetest souls you’ll meet. He is broke to ride both English and Western, loads easily, ties patiently, and stands wonderfully for the farrier. In the herd, he holds a middle position and gets along beautifully with both mares and geldings. Always eager to please, Leo leans into connection and blossoms with gentle attention.

Leo is dreaming of a home for the holidays—a peaceful place to continue healing, a family who sees the beauty in giving a deserving horse a second chance. If you enjoy light riding or simply want a loving companion to share your pasture and your heart, Leo may be the perfect fit.
