I am Apache, a very lonely stallion hoping that someone will be willing to take a chance on me and give me a new home.

My name is Apache.  I will be straight up and say, I need a friend and someone who can help me to be all that I can be (without joining the Army). I am a 2007 gray Appaloosa stallion. I don’t know my height, so I’d guess I am average for my breed. My owner has had me since I was a colt. Now that he is older it is difficult and getting dangerous for him to drag the hose from the house to give me water and return it to the house. He is strong, though, and makes sure I always have hay. Eating is about all I’ve ever done. Since I have had little socialization and really no training, no one is allowed in my shelter to see me. My owner says I’ve never needed a vet, so I’ve never seen one. My hooves are in bad shape, and I cannot remember the last time anyone touched them, consequently, I put up a big stink if someone messes with my feet, even my owner! He says it is because I am a stallion?? I am very lonely as my last friend, a steer, was taken away last spring; I hope he is OK. Now, let’s look on the bright side. I have rugged good looks and yet, I’m adorable. Also, I am a blank slate project horse. You can love and mold me into a great horse with a bright future. As I said, I really need a friend. Someone to love me into something much more than I am today.

I live in Pemberton, MN and you could meet me by first emailing adopt@thisoldhorse.org.
