Fancy is the final member of the Lucky 7 Herd still waiting for her forever home—not because she was unwanted, but because she needed time to heal.
When she arrived, Fancy was grieving the loss of a foal she’d carried shortly before rescue. We gave her the space, care, and compassion she needed to recover physically and emotionally. Now, this strong, soulful mare is ready for a fresh start.
Green broke with reports of having been ridden irregularly
Forward-moving and athletic—not for beginners
Comfortable in both English and Western tack
Beautiful mover with potential as a showy English mount or fancy trail partner
Fancy has a solid start, but she needs a confident, experienced rider who can give her structure, consistency, and continued training. She thrives with clear direction and a gentle but assertive handler.
Alpha mare in the herd—assertive and not afraid to set boundaries with other horses
Has bitten other horses, but has shown no aggression toward people
Loads, bathes, and picks up feet
Still needs work with the farrier—she gets anxious when asked to hold her hooves up for long stretches, so ongoing desensitization is important
Fancy has the thicker build of a former broodmare—voluptuous and strong. With training and regular work, she may become more fit, but she’ll likely always carry a proud, solid frame. She’s a gorgeous mare with presence, power, and grace.
