Wildhorse Ranch Rescue - Gilbert, AZ

Our mission is to save equines from abuse, neglect, slaughter and premature death and to provide a safe place for them to live for the remainder of their life.

WHRR was started in 1995 by Kim Meagher (pronounced ma-her), the organization gained its 501(c)(3) status in 2000. WHRR is located in Gilbert, Arizona and is currently home to numerous rescued, equines including three, retired US Forest Service equines. Since our beginnings, we have saved the lives of over 150 horses.

WHRR is also the home to about 30 rescued, spayed/neutered cats that live at our ranch in Kitty City and Majestic Gardens. All our cats are provided with a safe home, food and vet care. In addition, we rescue stray, starving dogs and cats from the Grand Canyon through our Havasu-Pup Program.

WHRR relies solely on donations from our supporters and the kindness of those who volunteer their time to care and feed our animals. Donations may be made through our website at or you can submit your donations by mail to:
