Meet Cranberry Sprite! A Sweet Pony Looking For Her Forever Home.

She’s very sweet, although she occasionally gets a little balky on the leadrope, but she is still learning to lead well. Her foster home thinks she has potential to be a nice liberty horse, agility horse, or in hand obstacle course horse. She also could be trained to drive – she’s so refined that she would make a beautiful driving pony, and she could be trained to ride in a few years (she should be given a few years to continue growing since she was starved early in life).

Description

ABOUT CRANBERRY SPRITE

Cranberry Sprite was relinquished by her owner when he was investigated for neglect. She was so thin she was mistaken for a weanling.

She's recovered from neglect and is very sweet and quiet.

EVALUATION AND TRAINING

When Cranberry Sprite arrived at Bluebonnet, she had not been handled and had not even seen people often. Her first foster home did a great job getting her halter trained and on the road to recovery. Her current foster home has continued that training, working with Cranberry Sprite more on leading and standing tied, handling her legs, standing for grooming. Her current foster home has also worked with her on in hand obstacles and says she has a great mind. “If Cranberry is unsure of something, she will stop and look, but with a little coaxing (gentle tugs on the leadrope plus kind words), she’ll go ahead and cross most any obstacle, even if my six year old daughter is leading her.”
