Raven has good ground manners and leads, trailer loads, backs out of the trailer, and picks up all feet well. She stands quietly for saddling and bridling, is confident crossing obstacles, and rides in the arena as well as out on trails. She rides English and Western with a good walk, trot, and canter. She has recently been introduced to crossrails recently. We have jumped her up to 2 ft 3 inches. She is confident in new situations and has been hauled to shows/trail rides/rodeos. She does great with lead line for a young kid to ride, but for independent riding we recommend an intermediate + rider. She is very sensitive to cues and needs a rider with soft hands / legs due to this.

Raven is 14.3 hands, 14 year old, Paint mare (unregistered) who came to our rescue in August 2017. She was starving when we got her so we got her on a healthy diet and she began to gain weight. We started her in training and noticed that she began losing muscle instead of gaining it and she was resistant to having her face handled. After a very extensive veterinary work up including many tests by our vet and several specialists at Auburn University, Raven was diagnosed with Equine Motor Neuron Disease, caused by a severe, chronic vitamin E deficiency. Raven has been treated with a high dose of a vitamin E supplement since February 2018 and this resolved all her symptoms. She will continue to need this vitamin E supplement long term.

Raven is available for on-site lease/sponsorship for a donation of $300 per month. She will stay at our farm in Townville, SC. The lease includes her boarding, feed, medications, all vet care, hoof care, and supplements. All you need to provide is tack for whatever discipline you would like to ride her in. We have a trainer coming on Sundays who can give you lessons on her as well. This can be a short or long term lease and she will not be available for adoption to anyone else during the time you lease her.

We do our best to determine what amount of training they have had and to represent them as accurately as possible. However, we usually do not know the history of our horses, so we determine training by how the horses act after we get them. Please call ahead or email to set up a time to meet our horses if you are interested in adopting. They are at foster homes so we may need up to a couple days notice in order to schedule a time for you to see them.

We desire for our horses to find a good home where the horse will be a good fit with the person adoption him/her. With that goal in mind, we do our best to accurately represent everything, good and bad, with our horses.
