Description

Oliver is a gorgeous, flashy chestnut gelding who came to us because the person taking care of him had not done any care for him: no hoof trimming for at least a year, no vetting, nothing.

At our farm we began getting his horrible hooves under control and started getting some weight on. Today, he is a shiny chestnut with lots of muscle and good hooves.

He is under saddle and we are working with some of his cues. Oliver was supposedly hit in the skull with a screwdriver or hammer and the vet pulled multiple shards of skull out of his head. The abuse caused nerve damage running down his nose so he is learning new cues for riding since he can’t feel the old ones. But he is doing great with the training. The nerve damage gives him a quirky grin but we think he was already quirky. He is always contorting himself into funny positions as one of these photos below attests.
