Due to some unfortunate financial and family health circumstances, my dad is no longer able to keep me. He loves me very much, and wants what is best for me, so he would like to find me the best home ever where I can receive the attention I deserve. I am a retired police horse. I have been in the Rose Parade and have been very proud of my job. I have had supervised 5 year old children on me and, and have done everything that was asked of me. I have been treated with love and kindness. I get along with all other horses, and have no bad habits.
Sometime last year, I sustained an eye injury. On December 15th, some very kind people helped me to have my eye removal surgery. I do not mind being a one-eyed horse. I just need someone who is patient and knows I have to look at my surroundings before asking me to do something. I am a little scarred not being able to see from both sides, but once I know what you want, then my confident self will shine. I love to please. Because I may spook until I become comfortable with my surroundings, and what you are asking of me, I am not suitable as a children's horse, but great for a knowledgeable intermediate adult. Once I trust you, I will do anything for you.
Other than my eye that was removed, I am completely healthy and sound. I do have a pigeon toe, but that has never bothered me. I will need an experienced farrier to make sure I stay comfortable at my effortless trot. I am very handsome with a typical Appaloosa attitude. I am a thinker, a pleaser, and affectionate. If you are looking for your next superstar, here I am!
Serious inquiries only please. PLEASE READ BELOW! UPDATE!
Valentino sustained an injury at the hospital while he was getting his eye removed. Our vet thinks that when they lifted him up on the table by the legs, they tore the soft tissue in both front knees, thus Valentino is not sound at this time. It has been about a year since he has been ridden and we anticipate a 6-8 month recovery time before he is able to do any type of regular exercise. Once he is healed, he should be fine but he will need to stay with us at this time to oversee his rehab. We apologize but his ads were posted prior to us finding out about this issue. Please contact us if you are still interested in learning more about him. Thank you for your patience and understanding.
