Seeking the Money “Penny” this very flashy chestnut mare has a great personality and is very willing. Her vet and handlers all mention how nice and eager to please she is. Can you picture riding this beautiful copper Penny through the fall colors when you hit the trails this autumn?
On the ground – Penny is very smart and loves to learn. She is very curious about new sights and smells. She will do best with a experienced handler who can be a confident leader for this young mare as she becomes familiar with her new environment.
In the pasture/stable – Penny is a dream to catch in the field. She gets along both with mares and geldings but does need to be separated when fed her grain. She is not at all buddy sour. She does best with as much turnout as possible.
Under saddle – Penny will do best with light work or low level trail riding. She does best with a free walk when first mounted to stretch her legs and needs a little time to settle in. After about 5 minutes of free walking she is ready to get to work. She has been consistently walked and trotted and is just being started at a lope.
Background and physical capability – Penny has been completely rehabbed from bilateral bone chip surgery. She does have some resulting arthritic changes but she is a forward horse who we feel could excel in a low level career with the proper maintenance.
Care – Penny goes well barefoot! She currently is on higher fat content grain, Tribute Synergy, 24/7 hay availability and benefits from a cribbing collar.
