Oakley – ATFO 2025 Platinum Division

Oakley

2013 Hanoverian X
Bay Mare
15.3hh

She is currently in training with Betty Miller and will be adoptable to approved applicants at the 2025 ATFO in August. Follow her progress at #hopteamoakley

from trainer 7/10/25:

Oakley is coming along very nicely, she is lovely on the ground! Her ridden work keeps improving as well, we have done some canters now and she has not offered anything silly with it. She also showed us that she has beautiful talent for jumping when free jumping we have not attempted it with a rider yet.
Of course today when we take the video she is in heat, she doesn’t do anything dangerous when she’s in heat, she just struggles to stay focused especially in the trot work and she wants to quicken her tempo and gets a little ahead of herself.
I think she would make a super eventing horse for someone!

from trainer 6/9:

The first few weeks we spent most of the sessions working on her connecting with me and seeing me as an important part of her life, and it sure has paid off!
This is only my third ride on her, a few of the things we are working on.. finding the forward with relaxation without arching her back, and her understanding of the bit she tends to want to curl and hide from the bit, instead of allowing the rein aids to influence her body. she has already improved so much with just the few rides I’ve had on her!

Adoption Info:

Adoption fees may be outdated, as a horse may have moved into training, so check with us on most current fee. Horses adopted are typically up to date on vaccines, dental floats, farrier care and all vet needs.

Horses are typically located in the Appalachian area, but please inquire about a horse’s specific location when you apply!

We are looking to adopt to safe homes.

A history of good horsemanship, the ability to provide sufficient care with good vet, farrier and peer references are important. If you are a first-time horse owner, we will require you to board at a facility for the first year while you learn more about care. We encourage everyone to take advantage of riding lessons.

Foal adoptions require previous, established experience with youngsters.

Our adoption process makes sure you get the right horse for you – it is a no-fail process for finding the right match.
