Nevaeh is a grade, late-teen to twenty-ish mare that came to AAE through law enforcement in late-2024 after she was abandoned on someone’s property. She was seized as a stray, and we were asked to help. When she arrived, she was thin and needed basic care (i.e., dental and hoof care, vaccines, and deworming), and she got a microchip. We didn’t get any training history since she came through law enforcement as an abandoned horse.

This beautiful mare is uncomplicated. She’s sweet, enjoys attention, and easy to handle (i.e., halter, lead, grooming, hooves, & trailering). She transitioned into a pasture herd without issue. We’ve done some brief saddle work; she wasn’t a fan, initially. Nevaeh’s first ride was a great surprise! Not only was she very calm and quiet, she was responsive and confident. She’s a little bit rusty, but all in all, she did very well. She walked over a tarp confidently, and she moved through the ride willingly.  She seems to have a very nice foundation to build from. Her biggest issue at this point is handling her hind feet. She’s not horrible, but she can be a little impatient, occasionally.

She was started on a daily equioxx that seems to have worked wonders for her. She’s much more active in the pasture and more comfortable in general.

Nevaeh is a very sweet mare, and is looking for an experienced person to adopt her. She will make a very nice companion and light riding partner.

Nevaeh has been such a wonderful girl during her stay with us. She is looking good and feeling even better! Now, her only wish is for a person and home of her own. She is current with hoof and dental care, vaccines, and deworming, and she has a microchip.

In general, there is a lot of activity around AAE including foot traffic in and out of paddock/pasture areas, mucking with wheelbarrows, grooming and care activities, and weekly farrier visits.  There are various resident animals, as well as various wildlife in and around paddock/pasture areas.  AAE is on a  busy road with high speed vehicles, trucks, and sirens.  Tractors and trucks are used in and around pasture/paddock areas.  Therefore, horses at AAE are accustomed to a more active environment as opposed to a quiet/sterile environment.
