My boy Indiana is unfortunately looking for a new home. I absolutely hate to give him up but he deserves a lot more time and attention and adventures than I can give him right now and I can’t stand seeing him bored in my pasture anymore… he is WAY too good of a horse for that!!!
He is a 10-year-old, 14.1 hh, grade Spotted Saddle Horse gelding, and yes, he is gaited!!! 🤩 He is a tri-color paint and just GORGEOUS… long mane and tail to boot!
He LOVES people, and will especially love his person. He’ll whinny and nicker when he sees you and come running across the pasture to greet you. ❤
This is why he needs a person who can become his true best friend and give him lots and lots of love and attention which is what he really wants. I had big plans for us when I got him 3 years ago but life has not cooperated and it’s finally time to admit he needs to go somewhere else before he’s past his prime. 🙁
He loads, stands for farrier, and ties great. Not a big fan of fly spray but if he’s haltered you can spray it on him just fine. Solid feet, he’s been barefoot all 3 years I’ve had him and does great without shoes unless you’re going over really rocky trails/terrain.
He is an in-your-pocket guy, and is very intuitive… I swear he’s telepathic, honestly, lol. Very smart, and very curious. If something scares him he just does a little start, then turns to face it and wants to investigate, haha.
He’s been used as a trail horse and before I had him did several long weekend rides, 40 miles/day sometimes… went through water and mud and over logs and all of it. He did the same with me on shorter trail rides when I first got him, but I’ve hardly been able to ride for the last 2 years.
Because of this, I’d say he might need a bit of refresher… while I’m quite sure he remembers exactly what he should do… he may question if he REALLY has to do it or not at first. 😆
He has a lot of go, and his gait is super smooth and fast. Because of this I would say he’s best for an intermediate or advanced rider who has the confidence to be on a faster (and very flexible lol) horse.
I would LOVE to see him go to someone who has been looking for their heart horse to forge a forever bond with … that’s what he’s waiting for! ❤

Asking 4, 🥕🥕🥕!
PS: He will slow down on the trail if behind a slower horse without being obnoxious, as you can see on the trail ride video link (coming soon!). 🙂
