Brynn is an off-the-track Thoroughbred who found her way to horse trainer, Jen Smith Cobb, in 2016 after earning over $25K across 31 starts racing in New England. She was accepted into the Thoroughbred Incentive Program, and was retrained as a hunter/jumper prospect. She is a forward mare and when she landed at her first placement with a young girl, she was ridden by the girl’s dad who was unseated and felt Brynn was not suitable for his daughter.
From there, Brynn was sent to a local equine rescue, and adopted and again relinquished back to the rescue by another young rider who found her to be too forward according to Brynn’s current owner. Jen re-entered the picture and convinced Brynn’s current owner to try her and things were going well with some coaching, until Brynn’s owner began to experience health problems and had to take a break from riding.
Today, her owner continues to have health problems and is now faced with the difficult decision to downsize her herd.
Suitability: Potentially Rideable with Professional Retraining
