Bourbon (and Chocolate)
I can’t think of a better indulgent combination, and I hope you think so too. Bourbon is a 2002, 14.3hh, Chocolate, Rocky Mountain Gelding. He neck reins, crosses water, trail rides well, passes other horses with ease and, being gaited, he is a smooth as silk ride. Bourbon trailers well but wants to exit as soon as the door opens so he needs a butt bar for his and your safety. He tolerates the dogs on the property but does not want them on the trail. Bourbon is great for the farrier and vet, ties well, is rather low in the herd and needs to be held while the rider mounts as he tends to walk away. He loves to be ‘caught’ with treats (don’t we all?). Due to his age, his vet has limited his weight carrying capacity at 150 lbs. INCLUDING tack. Bourbon has been traumatized by guns. The horses are scared of the noise but even more so the shells that end up in their paddock. They will get agitated as soon as they see a vehicle driving behind the property. Who wouldn’t?!! Besides a few quirks, this yummy horse, Bourbon, could be just right for you!
Bourbon is loved and living well Faribault.  For more information or to arrange a meet and greet, contact: adopt@thisoldhorse.org.
