Unicorn Alert! Everyone meet big gentle Ben a 12 year old 17.2 hand registered North American Spotted Draft gelding. This guy is beautifully marked and just so handsome. I would definitely say he’s the complete package and definitely the definition of BOMBPROOF. He has a nice stocky build, good size, nice legs, great hooves, very sweet soulful eyes and a beautiful kind face. I would put anyone on this horse or let anyone around this horse and not have a worry in the world. He is worth his weight in gold and he’s his own insurance policy. Horses like this just don’t come around to often. He is the staple of the draft breed and has that personality that the draft breed is known for. Ben is trained to ride and drive. He rides in English and western tack. His gaits are super smooth and slow paced which is perfect for the more timid rider or someone with back problems and true beginners. He would also work for someone who just wants a super safe dependable mount. He doesn’t neck rein but he does direct rein very well and rides in just a snaffle bit with a very light mouth. He stands like a statue and will stand all day if you ask him to and he backs up. This big guy wants to just walk and trot. Cantering is just way to much effort for this big guy and he’s a big horse. Most of these big draft horses prefer not to canter and most people buying them really don’t mind. If someone wants to canter he can because there’s no health or soundness reason why he doesn’t. You can ride him bareback, with a halter and lead rope or double or triple. He could care less what you do to him he’s a very happy willing horse that just goes with the flow. He always has his ears forward and is very happy to see you every time. Ben rides around the indoor arena, outdoor arena, around the farm, down the road, crosses water and never bats an eye at cars or traffic. I don’t ever like calling a horse spook proof but if I’m going to it will be this guy right here because nothing phases him, to the point where I think you could shoot a gun off his back honestly. He is so laid back and is the true meaning of more whoa than go. He rides out on the trails alone in a group. He isn’t buddy or barn sour at all and he’s 100% road and traffic safe. This is the kind of horse you can put someone on that has never ridden a horse and wants to go on a trail ride with you. Ben is definitely a big special guy and will make his owner very happy for many years. Not only does he ride but he also drives the same way. He is beginner safe to harness, hook and drive. He does drive single and double. You could go do carriage rides, weddings, funerals, hay rides tomorrow with him. He is one that you could drive down the roads of NYC. He also drives in a snaffle bit and has a nice light mouth. This big guy would be a phenomenal mounted police or therapeutic horse for a riding and driving program. I really can’t find any faults in this guy and I’ve tried because there’s really no such thing as a perfect horse but he may be it. His ground manners are exceptional and my 2 year old son can hold the end of that lead rope and that big guy will respect him and not make a wrong move. I’ve had a child as young as 6 riding him around the round pen walk/trot safely. He is the kind of horse you can ride daily, weekly, monthly or yearly and he’ll be the same way every single time. He is consistent and never has any buck, rear or bolt. Trailers, clips, bathes, cross ties, ties, picks his hooves, opens his mouth himself for the bit and stands to be saddled. There isn’t a lump or bump on him, no scratches, clean legs, and good hooves. He is barefoot and 100% sound. Ben loves people and trusts people. He has never mishandled, over worked or misused in any way. He did not come off an Amish farm and hasn’t ever been an Amish owned horse. Very easy keeper, gets along with everyone, no vices and can live inside or out. If you’ve been on the search for a super super safe draft that’s gorgeous and sweet to boot than this is your guy. His personality is second to none and he’ll definitely win you right over. Transportation is available at buyers expense. Vet checks always welcome. He sells sound and up to date on everything. Out of state buyers will need a health certificate at their expense. Located in Lehighton PA 18235. Call our phone number. Ben will not last long and he will only be sold to a great home.
