Okay, first let's talk about the elephant in the room... Aspen has an unfinished clip job. The stable groom was supposed to clip the sorrel gelding in the stall beside her but started on her by mistake. She caught her mistake early, but not before she had clipped a pretty good swatch off Aspen's neck/shoulder. It's almost Spring when she'll be shedding off sleek and by then it will be a non-factor. One thing I've learned about Aspen is that it doesn't matter how long she goes between rides she's always the same puppy dog when you saddle her back up. She had a lot of miles logged on her when she was young and then she was pastured for a couple years. For the past months or so she's been ridden a lot and if she had developed any pasture rust I sure couldn't tell it.

I don't throw around terms like Child-proof because no horse is totally that. But I will say that if you have an inexperienced rider that needs a slow, meek, uncomplicated horse to build some confidence on, you could definitely do a lot worse than Aspen. She just doesn't seem to get rattled over much of anything. She loads quiet. Stands like a statue to be groomed (even when she's getting accidentally clipped. lol) If you give her the choice she seems to prefer to go slow, but it doesn't take much to move her to a pretty smooth W/T/C. As soon as you tap the brakes she'll go right back to her walk.

She's never going to be a barrel horse but she is just a sweet, honest family kind of horse that will be a fun and safe girl who will take care of whoever is in the saddle. If you come ride her bring your trailer because I promise you'll want to leave with her.
