Description

Midas is a 2011 model 16 hand gelding who has a TON of potential. He is a straight forward ride with three quality gaits, including a fancy trot and uphill canter. In the first year of his career as an eventer he placed in all the USEA Horse Trials he started in. He was second in his debut at starter at the Mill Creek Pony Club Horse Trial, ending on his dressage score of 29. He then moved up to Beginner Novice at Champagne Run, receiving a 31 in dressage and after one rail in stadium earned 9th of 25 in Open. At Feather Creek Horse Trial and Heritage Park Horse Trials he placed 2nd in Open Beginner Novice. He competed and placed in the Area IV Championships as well, clear cross country at every trial. Qualified for AEC’s.

He is brave to jumps and a point ride on both cross country and stadium. He has done a schooling Novice horse trial where he placed second, finishing on his dressage score. He has schooled training cross country fences and 3’3” courses at home with plenty of scope to go higher.

I truly feel he has upper level potential and will take his rider as far as they want to go. He is a forward ride but easily adjusts.

He is well mannered and steady. He can sit for months and he is the same horse you put away. I have been using him for both dressage and jump lessons and he packs around his riders over fences regardless of their confidence.

He thrives on a job and is the kind that you can drill all day and he will keep trying for you. If he doesn’t get a concept, he doesn’t get upset, just gets tense in the bridle until he understands and then he softens and is good. He can take a joke and is very forgiving.

He is a barn favorite, with a puppy dog attitude and a true blast to ride. I’ve been putting off his sale ad because I enjoy him so much!

Any inquires, please message me. I’m looking for a competition home for him. He is ready for his move up to Novice and will be doing so with me unless sold. Buy him and move him up the levels or allow him to pack you around the lower ones. He can do both.
