Hidalgo was imported from Belgium in 2010 as a three year old. In 2011 he began his competition career and was approved by the BWP. This young stallion is an exemplary son of his famous sire Darco.
Darco, was voted best sire in the world in 2010 for the fourth year in a row, and he has produced over 3000 foals in his breeding career such as the famous Sapphire who is currently ridden by McLain Ward. His success as a breeding stallion continues today even after his death in 2006. During his show jumping career he made his mark at the Olympics Games, World Equestrian Games and countless World Cups and international events with Ludo Philippaerts.
Hidalgo’s Dam, Quick Dancer, is also by a very successful stallion Latano, who is by the famous Landgraf I. This well known stallion is the son of the great foundation stallion Ladykiller xx, and is one of the top breeding sires of the Holsteiner breed. Hidalgo’s dam competed at the 1.40m level and jumped with heart and stamina. She has produced a full sister to Hidalgo who competed in the 7 year old Belgian Championships in 2011.
Another stallion to note is Joost, who was a top producer of the Belgian breed who sired many international jumpers and several approved sons during his career as a breeding stallion.
Hidalgo is a horse with blood and bone, and possesses tremendous jumping ability.
