In 2007 Imothep completed his 30-day trial in Zweibruecken, Germany with the overall score of 8.1, and was victorious in his sporting debut in jumping tests Class A and L. In 2008 he was the winner in the young horse M classes with scores up to 8 and 9. These results qualified him for the FEI World Breeding Championships for young horses in Lanaken, Belgium in 2009. Now here at Hyperion Stud he has begun his breeding and competition career here in the United States. In 2011 he was fully approved and licensed by the BWP, becoming the only son of Indoctro in the world to have this status.
His sire, Indoctro, is one of the best producing stallions in Europe today, and Imothep is a superb example. Imothep has a wonderful temperament, a class A jumping style and impressive athletic power and movement. He is naturally balanced, intelligent and is always up for a challenge. Imothep is also proving himself to be a exceptional breeding stallion by producing a champion colt in Germany in 2009, and another in the US in 2011. His 2011 colt , Gustav HS, received a very high score of 86! This score tied Gustav for first place with 2 other colts in all of North America . Imothep's other offspring , Gideon HS, placed second and his filly Geneva HS won a blue ribbon. Imothep's progeny are beautiful, well tempered and possess big movement through the hind end.
Imothep is currently ridden by Candice King and jumping iat the Grand Prix level. He won several ribbons at WEF in 2011 in the 1.40m-1.45m classes. He finished 3rd in the $15,000 1.40m class week 1 in Saugerties, double clear in the Welcome Stake and 2nd in the 1.40m classes week 2. Most recently in KY, Imothep finished 5th in the $15,000 Welcome Stake and 5th in his debut $50,000 Grand Prix. He then went on to jump to a 7th place finish at the CSI Prix de Lexington also in Kentucky in September of 2011.
