The Lifetime Equine Refuge is the primary program within the Wild For Life Foundation, a registered 501(c)(3) organization staffed entirely by volunteers that provides vital, ongoing stewardship to horses in need. As part of the Foundation’s Lifetime Equine Refuge program, we rescue abused, neglected and at risk equines of all breeds and provide medical care, feed, shelter, rehabilitation, equine-assisted learning, adoption and foster services. We rehabilitate and re-train off track Thoroughbreds and provide for their ongoing care and facilitate appropriate transition to new careers. We provide long term sanctuary for wild horses removed from the open ranges. We work to elevate responsible equine ownership through compassionate mentoring and equine assisted learning.
Adoption: Rescued horses that have been cleared for adoption are placed with approved applicants on a first come - best fit basis. Our adopted horses can never be bred, raced, sold or given away. If an adopter can no longer provide proper and adequate care for the horse, or has an immediate need to re-home a horse they have adopted, that horse may come back to WFLF Lifetime Equine Refuge.
Foster Care: Do you have room in your heart and your barn for just one more? You can help by fostering a horse in need.
