The purpose of Easy R Equine Rescue is to rescue and rehabilitate abused, neglected, and displaced horses and to use these horses and the process of rehabilitation to minister to the emotional and spiritual needs of children and families. The goals of the organization include:
• Coordination of efforts with local agencies such as law enforcement and other animal welfare agencies in order to rescue abused, neglected, and displaced horses
• Rehabilitation of rescued horses by providing quality veterinary, dental, and farrier services and appropriate refeeding programs. Rehabilitation also includes behavioral training or re-training in order to increase the successful placement or adoption of each horse
• Determination of a permanency plan for each rescued horse either by successful placement into an adoptive home, another quality equine organization, or utilization in the program services for children and families
• Outreach to youth and families through exposure to and assistance in the healing process of the horses, animal welfare education and responsibility, and community service opportunities.
