Chris Boyer works with horses by appealing to their natural instincts in a way that builds a partnership and trust. He communicates with the use of body language and gentle pressure with increasing escalation to get horses to respond. The horses learn to form a relationship of respect and trust with the handler which allows them to feel calm and safe. Pressure and release are the core concept. Horses learn more from release of pressure rather than the pressure itself- timing is everything. Proper tools, use of ground work, and establishing boundaries all help set up the communication between you and your horse. Exercises include round pen, ground work and body control along with the emphasis on timing, feel and consistency.
