Here at Calypso Bay, we offer high quality horse care in a family-friendly environment. We strive to keep 'barn drama' to a minimum, which helps keep our facility calm and welcoming for the horses. Many boarders have commented on how their horses have settled down after arrival at our barn, and we pride ourselves on treating each horse as an individual, and all are treated as we treat our own.
We provide high quality hay and grain, and daily turnout of 2-3 hours per horse. All horses are turned out in individual, adjacent paddocks, to minimize the chance of injuries.
On full board, our stalls are mucked out fully once per day, with another 3-4 'poop pickups' carried out during the day. On partial board, all the boarder is required to do is clean their own stall daily - we still provide all hay, grain and shavings, and barn staff still deal with feeding, turnout, blanketing/unblanketing etc.
We have two riding arenas (one clay surfaced, one dirt) and a large round pen.
Lessons are also available, to both boarders and those who do not own their own horse, and if boarders wish to bring in an outside trainer, this can be accommodated (provided, of course, that the trainer holds sufficient liability insurance to match our own).
We are happy to board any type of horse, whether Western or English, and we will board stallions provided they are well mannered and safe for our staff to handle. We are accustomed to a wide variety of breeds and age groups, from weanlings to the more elderly horses, and will as far as possible accommodate the special needs of any type of horse.
