Have an Off Track Thoroughbred? Need a little touch up? Perhaps a horse who is off the track and injured? Or perhaps you just got your newest horse directly from the track? We are Maui Meadow Farm, Pennsylvania's OLDEST working thoroughbred farm SINCE 1946! We have a combined 7 GENERATIONS of horsemanship and experience and we know our thoroughbreds! We not only break and train our own thoroughbreds for the race track, but we also RE-TRAIN our own thoroughbreds who do not wish to be race horses, for other new careers! We offer PROPER let down from the race track to ensure your horse is SAFE and will adapt to his or her new life.

Any horse introduced into our program is given a full evaluation. If your horse has an injury, you can count on us to properly rehabilitate your horse to his or her fullest ability for their new career. We work closely and maintain a close relationship with the top surgeons of New Bolton Center (including the ability to personally ship your horse only ten minutes to the New Bolton Center for treatment), as well as our clients, listening close to our clients wishes and desires of their horses. We also feature a heated, indoor swimming pool for recovering horses, or conditioning horses if allowed by surgeon or vet.
How do we train?
We believe that any thoroughbred has the ability to acquire and learn a second career. Each horse is different and we do not train the same horse in a "same package" way. Each horse has his or her own evaluation and training schedule. ALL of our horses are trained to be De-sensitized STANDARD to everything and anything. All horses are shown "scary and spooky" scenarios, so that our clients feel safe riding their horse when they leave our care and training. Each horse in our care has his or her own PERSONAL groom and rider, as well as FOUR daily physical checks including a morning check from feeding time, two outdoor checks by grooms, and a nightly check after dinner.
Horses are trailered off the premises at times, to different locations of trainers we are partnered with. This allows us to train your thoroughbred in different surroundings and allow them to become comfortable and safe. We trail ride our horses, teaching them to become COMPLETELY desensitized to any element while riding.
We also allow low level schooling and showing, to a higher level as your thoroughbred advances. We have a high success rate in the show ring with our thoroughbreds learning their new careers and we attend mostly thoroughbred only shows.
We also (at no additional cost) teach our owner's the proper way to handle and ride their new thoroughbred, INCLUDING weekly lessons on their own horse in our board and training rate!
This all inclusive package is available to the thoroughbred owner - We enjoy promoting this incredible breed and believe in taking care of our own from race day to show ring!
