The Duchess Sanctuary—owned and operated by The Fund for Animals in partnership with The Humane Society of the United States—is an 1120 acre sanctuary outside of Oakland, Oregon, established in 2008 as an oasis for abused, abandoned, neglected and homeless horses.
Mission: To provide sanctuary for horses in need, using "best practices" for equine management while preserving and protecting the environment for the benefit of the native plant and animal species.
