Southern Winds Equine Rescue & Recovery Center, Inc. which is a 501©3 organization was established in April 2002.
The center facilities include an enclosed barn 56 feet x 120 feet with 12 stalls which are12 feet x 12 feet .There are forty-seven acres of pastures with brome grass, fenced and cross fenced with access from the barn directly to the pastures, there are three (3) loafing sheds in the pastures and automatic waters accessible to the horses from all pastures.
There is a dedicated isolation area with pasture and an enclosed building which is used for new arrivals.
Southern Winds strives to support Local Law enforcement within Cowley, Butler, Sedgwick and Sumner counties and general public when assistance is requested.
Southern Winds basic programs for horse owners and the general public are Equine education, Volunteer opportunities, Adoption, Foster; Sponsor a Horse, Rescue & Recovery.
Southern Winds has Rescued, assisted in placement and/or adopted 136 horses since being established in 2002.
We are an all volunteer organization and 100% of all donations go directly for the care of rescued horses.
