Interestingly enough, Rocky Mountain Horses were developed in the foothills of the Appalachians in eastern Kentucky. The man most closely related to the breed is Sam Tuttle, and the horse is "Old Tobe." For nearly 35 years he sired horses with a gentle nature and that were sure-footed and had an easy ambling four beat gait. These qualities make them invaluable in rough terrain and made them the chosen mount for postmen, doctors, and traveling preachers. An all-purpose breed, they can be used to ride, plow, or pull a carriage. If you're looking for Rocky Mountain Horses for sale, don't miss our classified ads!
