"Reno" is a 5 y.o. BLM Mustang, captured as a weanling at his mother's side from the Rock Creek, Nevada herds. He has been under saddle for only 4-5 months, but is a quick study and showing great promise in Dressage (shown once in September, w/ gaits in the "7"s). He is sensitive to the aids, pleasantly forward, a lovely mover, and possesses natural balance and round topline. We are currently working on canter and basic lateral movements under saddle. Reno has also been free-jumped (video available at http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JC_Dzt91wec), and demonstrates that he will be a clever and athletic jumper. He has been trailered around a bit for experience, and lightly trail ridden. He requires an advanced rider at this time, only in that, beside being green, there is much that he still hasn't seen and experienced, is fairly "looky", and needs the confidence that a calm, experienced and assured owner/trainer can provide. That being said, he clips, crossties, stands in washrack, loads and has no vices or bad habits. Personality-wise, he is intelligent, inquisitive and affectionate. Will make a great small adult's horse, and a great children's horse after he gets a few more "miles" on him. Great, strong feet--will never need shoes! To great home only.

11/19 - Reno now has a month's experience over fences (sorry, no video yet), under saddle. We are starting him slowly (x's, low panels), but he trots down and canters off in the same rhythmic fashion that you see in his flatwork video!...
