Tom Tom is out of the first crop by Black Sky Affair, an 18.1hh black stallion by Skys Blue boy that never hit the show ring due to a stifle injury as a yearling. He is also out of a Smooth Town X Barpassers Image cross mare, which puts him together with the height of a great hunter, but with strong, slow legs to make him last his lifetime.
This guy really can do it all. Beautiful long legs and stride, but slow legged. Tom Tom has that huge sweepy trot and a long, lofty canter. He does patterns like a champ with tight circles, counter-catering, canters off from a stop, stops form a canter cleanly. Does turn-arounds on the forehand and hindquarters with ease as well as side-passing. He has been hooked up to a cart, drove with ease the first time and just put his head down like he'd been doing it all his life.
We have also started some western training with him which he is doing great with, there's a lot of potential for him to do well in horsemanship and trail and some day probably even western riding. He is also showing a good interest as a showmanship horse.
This horse has the best temperment anyone could ever ask for. He would succeed in any division you put him in. He has been to 3 AQHA shows and pointed in the Junior, Green, Novice Amateur and Select Amateur HUS classes, been to multiple open shows where he won multiple Equitation and HUS classes and has been the high money earner. He was even in contention for all around horse in the first show that he ever competed western and placed in pleasure and trail in a class of 15+. He has the ability to compete in the open and amateur division, but is easy enough to work with that he'd be a great novice and/or youth horse. He is also Incentive Fund enrolled, giving you a chance to earn money with every point!
This horse is always great to work with, under saddle or on the ground. He truly is a sweetheart, despite his size. He has respect for you on the ground, loads, clips, bathes, ties, ground ties, lunges, anything you ask of him, without a chain/twitch/whatever.
He has limited AQHA showing only due to restricted time and finances, which is why he is for sale, we are extremely sad to see this guy go, whoever ends up with him will be nothing but pleased.
