Captain in the show ring:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gXV0FOZMLOE

Captain is the whole package, with looks and a personality to match!
He has a gorgeous creamy buckskin coloring (dappled during shedding season) which always places him in the center of attention where ever we go. He is a real eye-catcher and he always gets plenty of compliments.
He has the conformation of a TB, but the brain of a QH... you couldn't ask for a better combination! He is nice and tall, standing at 16.2H, he is fairly narrow right now, but he is starting to fill out and with more work he will build up with more muscle.
Also, he has never had any serious injuries that could possibly be reoccuring and he has nice, clean legs.

I am offering him for sale or lease only because I have a 1 year old daughter and I have been finding it harder and harder to make time to devote to Captain. I don't have the time to work him like I used to, and when I do find time to ride, it's usually just enough time for a short road-ride. He has just been wasting away in the pasture and thats not fair to him.

We have always joked that he thinks he's a dog; he is very affectionate and would curl up in your lap if he could.
He enjoys one on one attention, and loves doing ground work so he can have that face to face interaction.
He is very eager to please, is a fast learner and he loves being taught new things.
Captain is a very nice mover; I have used him as a hunter/dressage horse in the past, only showed him once and he did very well, but I have realized he is happiest as a trail horse and I feel that is what he would be best at.
I have jumped him a few times, but have not found the time to fully train him as a jumper... but he seemed to enjoy it the small amount that he has done.

A little bit of background on Captain:
He was a PMU foal, and was rescued by an adoption facility in which I adopted him from as a yearling. I have been his only owner (besides the woman I adopted him from as a yearling). I have owned and loved Captain for the past 5 years, teaching him and training him in a very compassionate way. I waited until long after his knees were closed (at about 3.5 y/o) to mount him for the first time, and took his early training very very slowly to instill good strong basics in him and to take it easy on his young growing body and mind.
Over the past 3 years (from the time I started his training) I have jumped from job to job, became pregnant, had a child and have been doing a balancing act with him in between it all. I would still consider him a little green because his discipline training has been on again/off again for the past 3 years, but he has strong basics and has them down pat.

Captain needs a quiet and patient rider, one who will not push him too hard and will take things at a nice slow pace with him. He is a quick learner, but he does get easily frustrated if he does not understand what is being asked.
He would do best with an adult rider (18 or older) and would be best fit for a "backyard" type of environment compared to a busy boarding facility. He enjoys going out on the trails and I have even taken him out alone on the quiet dirt roads near our barn.

Captain has the "doggy" personality that does best with a laid-back, easy going, "lets play" type of lifestyle vs a "lets train and compete" type of lifestyle.

He currently is not registered, but he is qualified to be registered with the ABRA... I just never got around to doing the paper-work.
