Chief is my nephews horse. Cody learned to ride on this gelding and has owned him for over 5 years now. Cody has been riding this horse since he was 8 years old. This horse has been honest, gentle and tolerant. Cody's parents are not horse folk, so my nephew has handled, saddled and ridden Chief by himself, and much of the time without adult supervision. That says volumes about this nice gelding and what a good mind he has. Cody has ridden him bareback, swung a rope off of him and all the things kids typically do with a horse. This horse can stand in the pasture for weeks at a time and still be gentle to saddle up and ride. Chief had some reining training by previous owners so has a good handle and stop. He's been ridden in the arena and around the pasture since being purchased for my nephew. Cody rode him in the grand entry at the local rodeo once and he did great. Chief is a responsive horse that will lope right off when asked, not a dead head, so I do not recommend him for very small kids. Chief has never had any lameness or health issues of any kind. He is current on shots, deworming and coggins. Cody is 14 now and has taken a keen interest in learning to team rope, so decided to sell Chief and purchase a horse with roping experience. Would consider trading for a gentle team roping horse. Please contact Cody at 903-836-2404 or 903-657-9841 email is Brendapool@earthlink.net
