Added another **VIDEO** that shows what a quiet, uncomplicated mare that Ellie is! You can see from some of these clips that she can slow down into a nice and easy "jog" when you sit her trot that is super easy ride, and you can also see in the first video that she can really move out when she is asked.
Update November 3rd- I have added five new photos taken on November 2nd. The rider in the new pictures is a nine year old girl who easily walked, trotted, and cantered around on Ellie with a loose rein. There was also an eight year old girl who has never been on a horse before that rode her and had a blast! This was all after Ellie hadn't been in any work in over two weeks. We just pulled her from the field and she behaved like a perfect angel. She takes care of her rider and takes it easy on beginners, but knows when to step it up for the more advanced riders. This mare is a true gem, a real sweetheart, and priced this low only because I can't afford to keep her. Her original sale price was $4500 but I need to find a great home for her! She has the "puppy dog personality" and the athletic ability to do almost anything you want.
Ellie's price has been greatly lowered due to her lack of fitness and urgency to sell. I have put over $5000 into her, despite the fact that I cannot ride her like I used to. I truly can no longer afford to keep her. Even without consistent riding, she behaves well-- even for small children. She is very safe, dependable, and reliable for adults or children.
"Ellie" is a very special girl that just loves to be loved! She is an attractive bay and is very versatile. Since I have owned her, we have done jumping up to 2'6", endurance, trail riding, driving, and even some basic dressage. Her previous owner had her taking part in childrens walk/trot beginner lessons. She is light in the mouth, forward moving, and is wonderful inside as well as outside the arena. She enjoys the trail and doesn't mind cats, dogs, bikes, bridges, or traffic. Such a blast to ride under saddle or bareback-- even goes well in a halter and lead rope(gets on the vertical!), a bitless bridle, or regular bridle with just a snaffle bit.
Ellie has a personality that everyone who meets her falls in love with. She will stand quietly all day long to be brushed, cuddled, kissed, and adored. Good with kids, picking up her feet, trailer loading, cross tying, fly spray, bathing, and is easy to catch. I taught her the spanish walk last summer and it's fancy and impressive! Would be a great 4H, Pony Club horse, or even a project for a junior to finish since she isn't in peak physical condition and needs fitness. Will suit and teach a beginner with an instructor and will also perform for a higher level rider. She can be ridden by kids or adults.
She has great ground manners, respects her handler, is good around other horses, and is not mareish at all. By nature, she is gentle and an absolute angel to those who she trusts. Any new experience she faces head-on and looks to her rider, driver, or handler for leadership. There is no buck, bite, or bolt in this horse.
I am reluctantly selling Ellie because I am unable to ride regularly due to my back problems. Motivated to sell because she deserves to be ridden by someone who will adore her as much as everyone at our barn does and I cannot afford to pay board each month for a horse I cannot ride!
