Nutmeg- For adoption Fee- $250
~*Best Suited to be a companion pony*~

Nutmeg is a 12hh grade pony, she is about 11 years old. She may possibly be a Hackney Cross pony. She is a very sweet girl. She has an old eye injury in her right eye that causes partial blindness. She can still see and gets around very well. She likes to be turned out with a friend though she is not very happy when she is alone. She would make a perfect companion pony! She gets along with any horse or pony we have put her with. She has a hard time dealing with Vet visits, but in time I think she will see that it is ok. She loves to be groomed and is very good about picking up her feet. She is a little timid and head strong right now, but she was not handled in over a year- 3 years, so once she gets used to it I think she will be great! She is a little club footed and that is also why we believe she would be best suited for a companion pony only, maybe with trained just do walking on leadline. At this time due to having no hoof care in over a year she is lame at the trot, but we are hoping with good farrier care this issue will be resolved. She has only been with us a few weeks and she is already improving! She also has gained over 50lbs! She is a good eater! She does not like dewormer, but she did have a lot of worms so she has been dewormed multiple times. We will check soon to see if that did the trick! :)
Update 3/24/14-Nutmeg came to us after not being handed for over a year. She was full of worms, but now she is getting over them and doing much better. She was eating three small meals a day, but now she is down to two bigger meals a day. The vet has looked at her eye and the damage is permanent, but she still can see out of her right eye.Her right front hoof is partially club footed, but the farrier believes with corrective trimming it can be partially corrected. She has gained over 50lbs! She still has a way to go, but she is making big progress! She is still a little skittish and hard to catch, but she is making progress everyday! :) At this point she is still lame at the trot, but we are hoping after a few corrective trims that will not be the case. She has graduated to a bigger stall now and hopefully soon we will be able to catch her without a grab rope. Our next goal is to able to catch her without a grab rope.
