"Dream Catcher" is a perfect name for this boy! He truly is a dream: to own, to ride, to work with.
Chief is an absolute gem. Willing, patient, and kind, he would love nothing more than to have a person of his own to bond with and prove himself.
Chief is versatile enough to be ridden by a beginner through an accomplished rider. He will take care of a beginner and give everything he has when asked to work. He would make an amazing partner for someone looking to enjoy each and every ride without worry, fear, or concern. He is level headed, reliable and brave; nothing much bothers this guy. He's curious and interested, and he truly enjoys a good ride.
He can go out alone or with a group.
He can dog/trail walk on a loose rein and make a good partner for slower walking horses, or he can pick up his step and give you a ground-covering flat-footed walk. He can side pass, leg yield, turn on the forehand, moves to let you open and close gates, and he stops on a dime.
Bareback, bitless, or in full tack, Chief's eagerness to please makes him a suitable mount for any level of rider. He's been ridden in traffic, along the ditch banks and out on the mesa, both alone and with company. Cars/trucks, ATVs, golf carts, dogs, cows, donkeys, chickens, bicycles—he's seen them all.
No buck, no rear, no bolt.
Chief is a doll for the farrier, lifting and holding each of his feet with careful patience. He is barefoot with beautiful hard feet.
He loads right up into the trailer and hauls calmly.
Grooming, tacking up, and bathing are effortless tasks with him.
He stands quietly and still to be mounted, either from the ground, fence, or a mounting block, and waits for instruction before moving off.
Chief comes as a complete package with his own custom-fitted saddle and bridle. Up to date on vaccines and heath care, deworming, and farrier.
**Please note that I have him listed as a Kentucky Mountain Saddle /American Gaited Horse, but he is registered through Kentucky Natural Gaited Horse Association and that was not an option to choose**
