Are you looking for a horse that loves to trail ride as much as you do? King's Rising Tide (Podunk) is a 9 year old Missouri Fox Trotter. He is sorrel in color and stands 15.3 hands tall. He loves trails and will go wherever you ask him - over bridges, through a river, etc.. He is confident and forward moving. Therefore he needs an experienced/ confident rider that enjoys a horse that moves forward - he is not a horse that enjoys walking slowly behind others on long, narrow trails. He usually prefers to be near the front so that he can walk at his own pace. He is typically ridden in groups of 2-4. He has been ridden alone as well.
Podunk was shown successfully in performance as a 2 and 3 year old, but I enjoy trail riding more than showing, so he has not been shown since.
He will stand for the farrier, a bath, etc.. If you are giving him attention, he will stand for you all day. He trailer loads and unloads perfectly.
Podunk is sound and has great hooves. He has not worn shoes in several years. However, the terrain in this area can be a bit rocky, so while trail riding we use Cavallo boots for protection.
During these cold, wet winter months, he has not been ridden. Nonetheless, he is a trustworthy horse that has never bucked, reared, bolted, etc. and I would gladly go out and ride him today!

Gaits: He can trail walk (like a QH), flat-foot walk, foxtrot, and canter. Since he started out in show, we never allowed him to pace or running-walk. However, I think he could probably running walk with some practice. A running walk would give you a fast smooth gait. I typically ride him in a trail walk and flat-foot walk. We only fox trot and canter short distances.

Podunk has a wonderful personality. He is playful and gets along well with other horses. I am only selling him because I only need one horse to devote my time and attention to. If Podunk sounds like he would be a good horse for you, give me a call! I would love to tell you more about him and have you come out to meet him!
