"Suz" is a bay, 13 year old registered quarter horse mare. 15.1 hands. Her registered name is The Consultants Doll, out of The Consultant (a Michigan honor roll champion stallion, performance and halter point earner) and Smoke N Susie (whose sire is Mr. Skipper Smoke, a AQHA champion, superior halter horse, and also has ROM's in reining, English, and Western Pleasure).
"Suz" was trained by the University of Findlay, knows some reining, will lope right off from a standstill, and can stop on a dime! She has an amazing stop! Has been used for kid's lessons, 4H, and high school Equestrian team. She is an AMAZING trail horse - camps, pickets, walks through water and over bridges. Kids and adults trail her with no spook.
She is very good with children (I have 4). All of them (ages 5 to 10 years) have ridden her without trouble. With that said, I would still recommend that a beginner rider be supervised with her as she will, on occasion, test the beginner riders. Nothing major, nothing scary, not a mean bone in her body. Just a very smart mare and knows how to take advantage of timid beginners to get out of working too hard - that is the ONLY reason I give her a 3 on temperament. Otherwise, she'd be a solid 1.
She would make a great trail horse (no problem with even the youngest riders while group riding - she'll follow the herd), pleasure horse, or cattle horse. Has speed if you ask for it and has recently been taught poles and the barrel pattern. Very versatile. She's currently being used as a lesson horse for intermediate riders (when my beginner children aren't riding her) at the indoor arena she boards at.
She has a current coggins, is up to date on vet, teeth, and farrier. Stands perfect for farrier (vet and dentist too). Wears front shoes. She is an extremely easy keeper, easy to bring in from the field (my children have no problem leading her in), and stands just fine for grooming and tacking (children or adults). Trailers easily and had no trouble when we took her to a show last fall (practice on being tied at trailer and warming up in the practice arena with other horses). She is currently turned out with other mares and geldings, has also been turned out with cattle just fine. Middle of the pecking order. Gets hay and grain. No cribbing, founder, etc.
Asking $2000 CASH - great horse, great breeding, great potential.
