Need to sell! I'm currently in college and will be going to Grad school in the near future. Haven't had the resources for the training, handling, or attention that Sophi deserves. I have more videos of her, riding and free lunging, if you ask I'll send you the youtube links. She's been getting ridden more now that it's summer and is doing well, so price will go up with her progress.
Sophi is very uniquely built and has a look all her own. Roughly 15.3 hands tall. Chestnut with flaxen mane and tail. Stands good for farrier. Built more like the Trakehner in her stockiness. Has front shoes to prevent too much wearing from our sand arena on her feet, but has solid feet/no cracks. She is a super easy keeper, haven't had to grain her, and thrives on hay/grass. She had lived her whole life thus far in pasture turnout nearly 24/7, but does fine if put in a stall at night. Handles winter just fine and is good with a blanket for those -30F days.
She has a strong personality and can act pushy or intimidating, so not for beginners. Rider should be a solid intermediate at the very least. Was with a dressage trainer March-December 2013. She has a solid start and knows the dressage basics up to Entry level. Needs work with her canter. Lunges well. Shown minimally at 4-H events, In-Hand dressage prospect, and dressage schooling shows at Entry Level.
She is lifetime registered for both USEF and USDF and has smooth gaits. She is a fast learner, loves games, naturally curious. Would be a good endurance prospect, trail horse, or pleasure prospect if not used for dressage. Likes trail rides and is good at overcoming obstacles with a patient and confident rider. Sophi was born and raised on a farm with exposure to loud tractor/heavy freight truck noises, beef cattle, and occasional wildlife. Little/minimal jumping experience: cavalettis with the very occasional small single jumps less than 28 inches.
Sophi could also be registered or approved stock for American Warmblood if interested in eventual breeding. Sire is "Karino's Fire", a Trakehner/Arabian cross with a great endurance record. Carino *E* Trakehner bloodline. Dam is "Our Finest Hour", a registered American Jockey Club Thoroughbred, and an approved Preliminary Trakehner broodmare who is also for sale at our farm. (Ask me for her ad link if interested, selling her through our trainer.)
Open to the buyer bringing a vet for a pre-purchase exam. Any other questions, please contact Hana.
