"Petal" is a super cool mare that is the real deal. She is a finished, seasoned, hauled barrel horse. She has AQHA open and youth points and a ROM in both of those categories. She was a 2013 open AQHA World Show qualifier. In her first AQHA show she was circuit champion in the youth barrels, open barrels, and youth poles. She was also reserve circuit champion in the stake race. She has 28.5 performance points. Petal has been roped on in brandings, the pasture, and a couple rodeos. She has all the parts to be a head, heel, or breakaway horse, she just needs a little finishing. Petal is super broke, and has been used in all phrases of ranch work. She can sidepass, two-track, spin, rollback, stop, take her leads, back up, lots of body control, and collects. She'll cross water, ditches, creeks, etc. She's very cowy and is a ranch cutting money earner. She has most of the pieces to be a working or reined cow horse. I've worked a little on her lead changes, but she needs some time before you would call her finished, and I've never had sliders on her. She is such a cool mare that I won a ranch horse competition with her in the morning, and then hauled her 4 hours and won a barrel racing on her.
Petal has had 2 foals, a 2009 dun mare that has minimal riding, due to an injury, but even with the few rides she had, she had a smooth jog and got her hind end under her in the stop. She also had a filly in 2012 by the same stud that is cherry red sorrel with a blaze and three socks.
Petal has a good pedigree, her sire had only three foals shown and all three earned points. 2 earned 200+ IBHA points and 3 earned 40+ AQHA points. One was 6th in the heeling at regionals, and was 4th place high point Jr. Versatility Ranch Horse. Petal was the only one of her mom's foals showed AQHA, but we have one other mare out of that same horse that was a jackpot money earner also in the barrel racing and team penning.
With all that being said, Petal is a great mare, but she is not for beginners. She is super sensitive, and therefore wouldn't get along well with someone was timid, or inexperienced. I would consider partial or full trades for a trailer of equal or lesser value. Feel free to check out our website or Facebook page(look up 7X Ranch on Facebook to find us).
