Lovely, athletic Thoroughbred mare for sale. Sports Queen
( Allie), is sadly for sale because health problems make it impossible for her owner to keep her in the consistent work she needs.
Allie loves to jump, although she has not jumped consistently lately due to owner's health. In the past, she was very brave to the jumps, and just very happy to be jumping. She is a sensitive and inquisitive horse, and does best with consistent work. She can be quite spooky at times, though much of that I fear is due to my own nervousness since suffering nerve damage. She has a super work ethic and really enjoys her job. The more she is worked, the better she is. She never tires, and is always willing to attempt whatever is asked of her. She is an energizer bunny!
She is easy to catch, walks right up to you and sticks her head in the halter, and a sweetheart in the barn. She stands for the farrier, cross ties, stands for clipping ( was recently clipped for the winter). She is a quick learner, and has been clicker trained to do a few tricks. (trained her while I was recovering from back surgery...) She is quite personable and sparkles with intelligence.
I would love to see her in a home with an athletic teenager who really wants to bring her jumping along. Allie would excel in low jumpers or lower level eventing. She is not a beginner's horse, she needs a strong intermediate rider or better, but with an accomplished, confident rider, she could go far. She is sound and up to date on everything.
Very reasonably priced at $2000, with a good home a top priority. Her price reflects that she will need some consistent work to bring her back to her full potential, and is not a reflection of her quality. I have set her price this low in hopes that a talented but not necessarily wealthy teen might be able to afford her to give her the work she craves.
I have had her for seven years, and it breaks my heart to sell her, but at 55 with one back surgery under my belt, I need a slower, "been there, done that" mount.
Would consider full or partial trade for a calm, unflappable 15.3 or taller horse, geldings preferred.
