Sire: VDL Silverstone (Champion du Lys/Carthago)
Silverstone is a son of Champion du Lys, who won many Grand Prix with Ludger Beerbaum and also won the Derby of Hamburg twice. Furthermore, we find the two time Olympic stallion Carthago, who sires strongly in the jumping direction, then the Ramiro x Gotthard son, Renomee, who also sired more international jump horses. Silverstone received the highest points, during the Stallion Test, ever for jumping in years: scope 9 - technique 8.5 - scope 9.5 and talent for jumping 9. He finished in 1st place for jumping and a 3rd place in the total classification.
With Dennis van Tilburg Silverstone was amazing in the stallion competitions. They won 3 out of the 4 qualification rounds in the stallion competition 2006/2007. In the Stallion competition of 2005/2006 he was placed 2nd.
Silverstone’s offspring sure know how to jump! In May of 2013 Wigeunerin (Silverstone x Corland) was on the winning FEI Nations Cup team in Lamprechtshausen in Austria. In the United States Listen, also sired by Silverstone, has become a Hunter Derby super-star. Other successful offspring include the mares Bigeunerin and B. Ocinthe placed 2nd and 3rd at the Dutch Free Jumping Championship 2009. In other years his daughters Amina, Zolivia and Zoxalis were placed high in this Championship. Bigeunerin and B. Ocinthe also received high points for their IBOP; Bigeunerin received 84.5 points and B. Ocinthe 83.5 points.
His son Winston was Dutch Champion of the 4 year old jumpers. His daughters Ziewica van de Hermitage and Zanzare became Provincial Champions. Bridgestone RV was Champion of the Young Foal Show in Tolbert.
Dam: Special Feature HH (Special Memories/Galoubet)
"Sophia" is a lovely,2010,home-bred mare. She is a big bodied, 16 hand (should mature 16.1-16.2), mellow and laid back girl. Sophia has recently been started under-saddle and has an easy, easy disposition and a naturally quiet temperament. She is very willing under-saddle, never offering to buck, spook or bolt and requires no pre-riding lunging or other prep. No vices, no soundness issues. As a foal, she received a Premium award at her Oldenburg NA inspection on 8/11/10. She had scores of 8.0 for type and conformation, 8.4 for movement and 8.0 for overall impression. In August of 2013 she was inspected by Oldenburg NA and was approved into the Main Mare book with very good scores and many complimentary remarks.
Sophia's sire is Special Memories. Special Memories is by Olympic silver and gold medal winner Abdullah out of Kluwall the dam of Olympic double gold winner Touch of Class .
As a four year old, Special Memories passed the 100-day test with high jumping scores. As a five year old Special Memories won the International Jumping Futurity (IJF) Championship (Devon), only his third jumping show. As a six year old, again lightly shown, he was 6th in the IJF championship at Devon with an unfortunate rail. In 1997, he competed in his first show jumping grand prix and quickly progressed to the top levels of grand prix jumping. He finished that year with 8 clear rounds out of 12 grand prix competitions in such prestigious and top level events as the $50,000 Devon Gold Cup, the Navigator (Devon World Cup qualifier), the $50,000 Budweiser Jumping Championship, and the Madison Square Garden Welcome Stake at the National Horse Show. Special Memories has sired numerous successful offspring in multiple disciplines. While too numerous to name them all, some of them include Grand Prix Jumper Thanks for the Memories, Amateur/Owner Hunter Champion Classic Memories, Grand Prix Jumper Castlerock, A/O Hunter Champion (and qualified for Devon) Special Edition and even the 2001 Res. Champion Best Young Horse at Devon, Intuition.
Special Memories was also recently approved into the American Hanoverian Society, which is almost unheard of for a half TB. He has proven himself such a valued sire of jumpers that his semen has been frozen and used in Europe, as well.
Sophia's dam was the very successful show-jumper Apache Peak. Apache Peak is by the legendary Galoubet. Galoubet himself was an international star (winning in Wiesbaden, multiple Nations Cups, etc) and is the sire of countless international jumpers, such as Baloubet du Rouet, Caloubet du Rouet, Quatoubet, and Quick Star. Apache’s dam was imported from Sweden as a dressage horse, but made her real mark as an upper level eventer. Apache’s dam-sire Mowgli jumped internationally, and has been said to have “great form and great skill”. His mare line produced Format who at one time held a high jump record of 7’5”. Apache herself was successful in the jumper ring, placing and winning at such large shows as WEF.
