Beautiful, Flashy, Rare Black Bay, Drum Horse (Gypsy Vanner Cross)

Absolutely gorgeous 5 year old Drum Horse gelding with a TON of presence. He stands an impressive 16.1 hands, is a black bay (he is almost jet black now) with 4 tall white socks, and a huge blaze. He has a long thick mane and tail and tons of thick feathers. He is 1/2 Gypsy Vanner, 1/4 Clydesdale and 1/4 Shire. His sire is Jack Flash, who was imported from the United Kingdom, and is a foundation stallion with the Gypsy Cob and Drum Horse Association GCDHA and also is registered with the Gypsy Vanner Horse Society. Dam is Midday Noon a Shire / Clydesdale Cross. Allowed to mature physically before being started, he was broke out as a 4 year old, then only had limited trail riding, sat all winter, then went back to continue training with “Chewy” (Wild Horse Wild Ride DVD) known by many as a famous horse-whisperer and Vaquero, from March to June 2013. Then spent the summer with me on 28 trail rides. Was exposed to bicycles, wildlife, farm tractors, commercial mowers, ATV’s, roller blader’s, dogs, joggers, cars, trucks, and the paparazzi! People on the trails and elsewhere would stop me and ask to take a picture of him he is such a rare and handsome boy. He is ready to move right into your training program and learn whatever discipline you wish. He has incredible gaits, will ride out alone or in groups, gets along great with other horses, is a very easy keeper NO grain required, great for Vet and farrier, no shoes, sound. Up to date on all Vaccines, teeth, worming, Coggins, etc. Good approved home an absolute must! He is located in Wisconsin and can be seen and shown by appointment only. No texting. Video, additional pictures and more information about this beautiful boy available upon request. Serious inquires only please.

*****For those of you unfamiliar with the Drum Horse breed I have taken the following excerpt’s from the Drum Horse Association website & The Gypsy Cob & Drum Horse Association (GCDHA):

“The Drum Horse Association was founded to promote and preserve the Drum Horse here in America and abroad. Originally found only in England in service to the Queen, the Drum Horse has arrived in this country and is already creating quite a stir.” “Drum Horses are being redefined in America for use in various ridden and driven disciplines. They combine the size and stature of the Shire and Clydesdale with the color and hair of the Gypsy Horse to create an animal that possesses the best traits of each breed. Slightly lighter than their fullblood draft counterparts the Drum Horse makes a talented athletic mount which can compete successfully in many ridden disciplines. In addition, Drum Horses are well suited for taller heavier riders that need a horse with more substance and height, but still want a calm, level headed riding horse. Because of their quiet nature, some Drum Horses may even be suited for pleasure driving. When viewed in person, this magical creature of history will render you speechless. They are unlike any other breed in the world!”

From the Gypsy Cob & Drum Horse Association:
“Inspired by some of the recent working Drum Horses of the British Cavalry, the Gypsy Cob and Drum Horse Association believes the development of the Drum Horse, as a breed, to be a worthy aspiration, in and of itself. A breed inspired by great war horses with a beauty, stature and dignity not found in any other existing breed. And, with such a symbiotic relationship existing between the Gypsy Cob and the Drum Horse, the Drum Horse will become not only a wonderful breed, unto itself, but also a wonderful counterpoint to the smaller Gypsy Cob. It was this inspiration, symbiosis and commitment, that lead to the unique concept of  the dual stud books under the umbrella of a single registry.”
“The Drum Horse as a breed: The Drum Horse has captured the imagination with his stunning good looks and stately air.   Though it has some similarities to the Gypsy Cob, the Drum Horse stands at least 16hh and utilizes the bloodlines of the Clydesdale, Shire, Friesian and Gypsy Cob. It is a heavy horse, of any color or pattern, with lovely feather and exceptional disposition. Developed as a heavy riding horse, the Drum Horse is suited for low level dressage, eventing, hunting, saddle seat, trail, pleasure and, of course, makes an excellent driving horse.”
