Ziggy is gorgeous in both looks & movement, with a great personality too! I have owned him for the past 8 years and he has never had to see the vet for anything other than routine check-ups & vaccinations. He has never had to have a pair of shoes on, and in fact, he often only needs to have his feet trimmed every other visit from the farrier! Ziggy is up to date on all shots & has a current negative coggins test. He ties, clips, lunges, loads, bathes, etc. with ease! He would make an excellent choice for a beginner with instruction or a more experienced petite adult or teenager who is looking for something small but still a flashy enough mover to be competitive with. It is my understanding that he was started under saddle western, but I have only ever ridden him english style and that is clearly what he is meant to do with his awesome gaits. He has been ridden primarily dressage, but has done huntseat and even saddleseat for the high school equestrian team. He is easy and fun to ride, his walk/trot/canter are training level ready, and he has been schooled on laterals (leg yields, traverse, renvers) and shows a lot of natural talent at them. He has incredible reach with his shoulder and engages his hind end easily. I have shown him intro and training level, but he clearly has potential for more with a little focus and routine work. Ziggy has also been used by my trainer as lesson pony to teach a young girl how to ride.
Ziggy is not currently show ready, he will need a refresher to get back into shape and get him to loosen up - but a consistent riding schedule does this in no time with him. He is just not getting the attention he deserves, and I would really like to see him go to a show home where he can be more than just a pretty pasture pet. I bought him as both a companion to my regular show horse and as a little side project, but he just gets put on the back burner too much. Now I am getting married next year, working two jobs, one of which is new to me, and I just feel the time has come for him to move on. It will be very sad to see him go, he has been a great little guy to have around!
